Fall Minis Recap – R Family

I love so many things about fall minis: getting to see old clients, meeting new clients, cooler temps, and beautiful leaves, to name a few. The only bad thing about fall minis: I can’t really share the photos until after Christmas cards go out. Then of course my poor blog is grossly ignored during the winter and before you know it, it’s time for fall minis again, and I haven’t shared the ones from last year!! (YIKES!)

So, in honor of all the unshared fall minis, I’m going to be doing a series of fall minis recaps!

First up, the R family, and their three beautiful girls! Here are just a small few of my favorites from our session!!

Southern Splendor Ball – Birmingham Museum of Art | Birmingham Event Photographer

Back in May, I had the honor to photograph the Southern Splendor Ball at the Birmingham Museum of Art. This black-tie affair is for their top donors, and I was so excited to be a tiny part of this spectacular event. I went to the museum, the night before the ball, for a run through. Immediately as I walked in, I was greeted by the sweet aroma of hundreds of gardenias! The florists were still working on arrangements, but even incomplete, they were amazing!

The night of the event, I wore an elegant black Ralph Lauren gown and pulled my hair up into a simple up-do. I’ve never had to dress like this for a shoot and it was really fun to feel like a princess, even though I was working! Walking into the museum was breathtaking. The floral arrangements were exquisite! Full of Southern greenery and flowers. The place settings sparkled and were only outdone by the gorgeous artwork in the galleries. The dance floor was set up upstairs and it was truly magical! I was swooning over the chandeliers and all the twinkle lights! Every detail was perfect. And of course, it radiated with Southern style!

As the guests arrived, I loved hearing their “oohs and ahhs”. You could feel the excitement in the air! They enjoyed cocktail hour upstairs, then came down for an amazing 4 course meal prepared by Galley & Garden Chef James Boyce. After dinner, it was time to party! The band, Surround Sound Band, was absolutely amazing and they really knew how to put on a show! It was such a fun evening, and I will forever be grateful that I got to be there and capture these lovely images.

Caroline’s 5th Birthday | Birmingham Event Photographer

{Blast from the past – April 2014}

Our dear friends were away in California for several years, so we were pretty  excited when they moved back home! My girls LOVE their kiddos and we had the best time celebrating sweet Caroline turning 5! It was a Frozen themed birthday and every detail was perfect! Lovely flowers, delicate snowflakes, “Frozen” colors, and even an amazing Olaf cake! All the girls wore their favorite princess gowns and were ecstatic when Princess Anna showed up at the front door! She read “Frozen” to the kids, painted their nails, and of course no party is complete without a dance party! It was such a fun afternoon, I’m so grateful we could be there to celebrate with our friends!
